This Petition was written by the folks from Doggie Design. We at eco dogs are in complete agreement with the cause and have signed the petition. We are just disappointed they did not include pet food & treat products in the text. Pet food and treats need more oversight in our opinion, to assure quality ingredients and fewer additives that may be harmful to our pets.

Pet Product Manufacturing in the USA has disappeared over the last 20 years and moved offshore to China. Doggie Design is negotiating with Private Investors, the State of California and our local SBA, to raise the Capital required to open a Made in America Pet Products Manufacturing Center in Northern, California, that has the potential of creating hundreds of jobs. We currently manufacturer our Ultra USA Choke Free harness in South Carolina USA, but we want to expand our US manufacturing to include other types of Products. YOUR Signatures will show the Investors, banks and local governements, that the USA Consumer would buy USA made Products, if it was offered to them, over OFFSHORE Products.

No surprise there, almost everything you can think of is produced in China, even things that your country may have in abundance is purchased there because they have no very low productions expenses. For example the other day I went to buy a new Indoor dog toilet and found the “Made in China” stamp there. So the question that comes to mind is: can’t we produce it here? Of course we can but since the final product will be a few bucks more expensive, nobody even considers producing it locally. It is a shame and what you say in your article is just part of the problem.
